Parents

The faculty and staff of the DeWitt School District are dedicated to providing the best possible educational experience for your child throughout his or her years in school. At every age and every level of ability, students are Priority One.

School is not just about curriculum. It's about helping young people grow emotionally as well as intellectually. While delivering the content material in an effective and beneficial way, our staff is also committed to the well-being of our students. You'll find staff members at community events beyond the classroom in an effort to be supportive of our kids. You see, we really do care!

Registration

Students entering the DeWitt School District must complete a registration form (available at your child's school) and meet with the principal and/or guidance counselor to work out their courses of study. Planning a program of study is an important matter and needs serious consideration. Parents and student should discuss the plan. The mere accumulation of units does not ensure sound planning. College-bound students should be aware of special requirements college may have and that additional English, Math, and Science are particularly valuable to college-bound students. Selecting a course based on who's in the class or who the teacher is is generally a poor practice.

Any person 18 years of age or older may establish a residence separate and apart from his or her parents or guardians for school attendance purposes. In order for a person under the age of 18 years to establish a residence for the purpose of attending the District's schools separate and apart from his or her parents, guardians or other persons having lawful control of hiim or her under an order of a court, the person must actually reside in the District for a primary purpose other than that of school attendance.
