Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure will be held on October 17, 2009.

We are in the process of forming a team again this year and would love you women to participate as a team member, you guys to show your support by participating in Three Miles of Men, or anyone to contribute by donating via the Because I Care program.

Please contact Kelly Perritt, kperritt@dewitt.k12.ar.us, if you’re interested in joining our team.  If you’re ready to register, go online to www.komenarkansas.org.   Under Komen Race for the Cure click Register, Join a Team, and at the bottom of that page type in Pink Knockouts and hit enter, our team comes up at the bottom of the page, click Join and the registration page should come up.

Our Team Pink Knockouts had over 25 participants last year.  Walking over the Arkansas River bridges shoulder-to-shoulder with 46,000 women, being cheered on by Three Miles of Men including the Governor of Arkansas and some dancing firemen, and knowing your contribution goes toward ending breast cancer forever made that Saturday a very positive and up-lifting experience.

Let’s go this year to celebrate and honor our brave survivors and to remember friends and family who lost their fight against this terrible disease.
